We are in love with the low country charm and impeccable service we experienced at Montage Palmetto Bluff. It has been an amazing place to vacation with the kiddos, but would be equally amazing as a couples getaway. It is some of the most pristine looking coastline in the whole US, and a true jewel in South Carolina.
It is an easy non stop flight from Chicago O’hare airport into Savannah/ Hilton Head International Airport and a quick Uber ride to the property. Once there you can use one of the Cadillac courtesy vehicles available to guests.
We enjoyed our stay in both the Guest House Suites and as of late, the spacious cottages. Coffee on the porch in the morning and an ice tea in the afternoon is one of the most tranquil experiences you can find. Even the kids would sneak out of the midday sun & relax on the screened in back porch.
The grounds themselves are a great balance of beautifully manicured lawns & natural conservation areas. The draping moss & the live oaks make for a magical backdrop.
The activities are plenty, whether it is hanging out in a cabana at the full service pools, exploring the fresh or saltwater by kayak, biking around the property, climbing the treehouses, venturing to the bowling alley or relaxing in the spa. And in the evening, the s’mores cart and fire pits make for a beautiful evening ritual.
If you happen to wander off property, you can explore the darling town of Bluffton, South Carolina- a short drive away- or take a 30 minute jaunt to Savannah, Georgia to hit up one of our favorite spots: Shuga Girl Sweet House or The Perry Lane Hotel. And be sure to take one of the historical trolley tours so you can really see all of the beauty Savannah has to offer.

PS: For those with pets or those with pet allergies: The Hotel IS pet friendly, however, we always call ahead and have let them know we have a kiddo with a severe pet allergy and asked for a thorough sanitation or accommodation and we have NEVER had an issue with our kiddo’s allergies.
