design lust: the dreamiest little girls room for two!

@a.dose.of

We are so crazy excited to be back with our Design Lust Series (more HERE), where we spotlight other’s unique, creative & well executed use of space. We love to see what inspires them, how they tackle design challenges, layout limitations and how they express their own style, all at a variety of price points.

Like we always say, every lust worthy room has a great story, and this one will make your heart sing.

We are bursting with joy to bring you the dreamiest little girl’s room, shared by two of the cutest sisters around! The design is so great, we actually could have left out the interview so you could just ogle the pictures, but this room is filled with amazing DIY wins that you will definitely want to know about!

This awesome family of five moved back to their hometown after their girls, Scarlett and Vivian (cutest names, right?)  were born so that they could grow up closer to their grandparents. This couple, one’s the planner & one is the DIY’er, scooped up a house built in 1895 and have DIY’d it into a beautiful home. They’ve since added a little boy, Clive to the bunch and this busy family keeps it together with game night, movies and all- day playground extravaganzas! Check them out on Instagram @scarlettos_angie for more of their adventures. It’s one to follow. (PS- Angie is both a pharmacist and consultant for Rodan + Fields, so she can help you with some skin care too!)

Believe it or not, this room was dark brown when the family moved in! To fall in line with their light & bright design aesthetic and a real boho vibe, the list of DIY projects included painting everything in sight (walls, ceilings, trim, doors), adding the  adorable tee pee and sourcing a few fun items found here and there and everywhere.

This GENIUS book storage solution is actually a beautifully curated collection of IKEA spice racks that were only $4 each!!! (HERE) We will be stealing this idea, so thank you Angie!!!

The tee pee is an extra special place in the room because Angie’s mom made it for the girls. We will take 2 please!

The curtains were an amazing ruffled find from Home Goods. White, nice quality and perfect for the space.

Some ‘can’t live without’ items in the room include these gorgeous, handmade crib shoes from grandma and who wouldn’t want this cute unicorn on the wall? You can find those amazing handmade crib shoes on Etsy at ‘Scarlettos’ by Cheryl Swaney, (HERE). Any chance we can get those made into mom-sized slippers?

How cute is that campfire?

The metal daybeds were a great Walmart find with a nice white pallet against those pretty floors.

Can you believe the light is from IKEA!?! We totally love it. Check out the shadows it throws on the walls. And it’s on a dimmer switch, which we think is a must.

We are absolutely in love with this dreamy, girly bedroom for two! We think this DIY is fantastic & hope you check out more of their home for inspiration on Instagram  @scarlettos_angie (HERE)
